Beginning his career by freestyling from age 5, Keivon Hemmings better known as Blind Eyez, has been working on music ever since. He was influenced by other hip-hop artists like Nas, Jay-Z, Ludacris, and Tupac. Born December 13th, 1995 and hailing from Newark, NJ, he’s surrounded himself around music ever since. He grew up playing the trumpet and is a classically trained musician. It was at the age of 13, when he decided to get involved more professionally by recording his music. Since then his music has been influenced by Kanye, Future and Jay Cole. He also enjoys and gains influence from listening to other genres and artists like Taylor Swift, Maroon 5, Elvis Presley, and Sleeping with Sirens. He also said that listening to other artists from other genres has helped him improve with his writing and even credits living in Newark and spending a year in Virginia for his style.

Currently he is attending Ramapo College of New Jersey where he’s studying music with a concentration in Music Industry. Since attending Ramapo he’s proven to be a good leader on campus by becoming an RA and a RASA Coordinator, where he works on putting on tours of the campus for potential and accepted students. He said that one of his favorite quotes is “Look at how a single candle can define and defy darkness” from Anne Frank. He feels that this quote not only matches his personality but also his leadership style. He’s okay with standing out, being the one that other people can look to and taking charge but also doesn’t mind standing back and taking orders from others.

The road to success for him would be to make enough of a presence in the hip-hop genre and to make a enough of a return to make a living from it. His next move, asides from graduating next year from Ramapo College, is to meet and work with more established people and play bigger performances like opening for Kid Ink at his college’s Spring Concert in 2016. He said that moment was one of the biggest of his career so far. “Being able to open to Kid Ink and play in front of 1,000 plus people was such an amazing opportunity.” Since then he has released his single “Rollin Wit the Punches” as well as a music video for the single. Right now he is working on promoting the single as well as making more music to share with his fans.
