JRIFTR is the emerging artist/producer project of New York City Area avant-pop producer Jake Bookbinder. Combining a classically trained background with an intense love of electronic music of all kinds, the JRIFTR sound is that of complex and often unconventional chord progressions, freshly synthesized sounds, wide-ranging vocals and always original sound design.

Jake started his journey with music on the violin at the age of 8, then began singing and teaching himself piano. Through his experiences with classical and choral music, he developed a love of rich harmony that has permeated his work. As he began to dig further into more music of all kinds, he started learning how to produce music himself and released a demo album when he graduated high school. Around his 19th birthday, he decided to start all over, with a new academic focus on synthesis and sound design.

JRIFTR released the “Environments” EP on August 31st, 2018, an electro-ambient sound collage of instrumental electronic music and entirely original sound design.

JRIFTR is about making new sounds, bringing experimentation to pop music and proudly blurring the lines between the super and the natural. JRIFTR is currently working on a new album called “More Music Than Man”, which will be released on all platforms by the end of 2018.
